Name: Emma Cossey
Blog: The Freelance Lifestyle (www.freelancelifestyle.co.uk)
When did you start blogging?
2009, although I’ve been interested in (and reading) blogs since 2003.
What inspired you to start blogging?
Other bloggers! Seeing great content out there realised I wanted to try and do the same. Eventually, I realised I wanted to help other people starting out as a freelancer, and a blog was a great starting point.
Do you have any other ‘day jobs’?
Yes, I have a part time job as a business trainer for young people, covering career skills and social media. The rest of the time, I freelance for brands as a social media consultant.
What are your blogging must-have tools?
What is your favourite place to blog from?
My sofa – although I have a feeling my best posts are written on the train!
Tell us about your favourite experience through blogging?
Blognix last year is a highlight as it was one of my first speaking opportunities. More than anything, I love the number of people I’ve met and remained friends with through blogging. Generally bloggers and positive, enthusiastic people to be around – that’s pretty inspiring.
What inspires you?
The news, other blog posts, a tweet, a situation I may be dealing with that could help others.
What is your biggest challenge as a blogger?
Time! Finding the time to dedicate to regular blog posts can be really tricky.
Share three of your favourite bloggers with us.
Keeping Healthy Looking stylish – I love how honest and warm her posts are. British Beauty Blogger – there are so many beauty blogs around now, but BBB is the only one I read regularly. Forever Amber – her writing style is completely perfect – funny, engaging and brilliantly clever.
What are your future plans in the blogosphere?
I have a to do list full of ideas for what I want to do. My only plans now are to find the time to put them into action 🙂
Thanks for chatting to us today Emma!
