One of the most important aspects of writing a blog is having regular readers (otherwise you’d keep a private diary, right?).
In order to get readers to your blog you need to make sure you are providing a range of ways for them to find you.
Everyone has a preferred method for following blogs.
A particularly important and useful tool to make sure of this is the RSS feed.
RSS is the acronym for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a basic language that shares your blog post with ‘readers’ or tools that allow people to read your blog elsewhere on the web.
To be honest, you don’t necessarily need to know how it works; you just need to make sure it has been set up for your blog. Most WordPress blogs should have this automatically part of their website as a simple .com/feed
I highly recommend listing your blog on Bloglovin. Ever since Google Reader was closed down (RIP) Bloglovin is growing in popularity as a blog syndication tool.
Again, you will need to create an account to claim your blog. They require you to add a small line of code to your blog so they confirm who you are. You can remove that code afterwards. Then you are good to go.
Just don’t forget to add the widget to your blog to let people know how to follow!
And of course you can follow Blognix on Bloglovin here.
