What inspired you to start blogging?

I read numerous blogs before I started Mathilde heart Manech and it felt natural to start my own featuring my interests. I needed a creative outlet and documenting my days through writing and taking photographs seemed the perfect way to do that.

I was also attracted to the the skills you can learn from blogging; writing, photography, design, coding, social media and so much more. Four years later I can’t believe how much it has changed my life.

Do you have any other ‘day’ jobs?

I am a marketing officer for an independent cinema; a dream job for me, having studied film at university and being a self confessed film addict. I am also a home and garden writer for the VoucherCodes blog, Most Wanted and work at a couple of days a week at a local contemporary craft gallery. I like to have lots of things going on!

What are your must-have blogging tools or resources?

My camera (Nikon D3100), online photo editing tool PicMonkey, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Blognix of course! Oh, and my trust notebook(s).

What inspires you?

Everything around me. The town I live in, the books I read, the films I watch, magazines, blogs, the people I love and the things I encounter.

What is your biggest challenge as a blogger?

Staying organised and time management. Sitting on the sofa writing posts has worked for the past four years but I’m ready for a little structure now. Obviously it takes more than a pretty desk and peg board to change things, but I cannot wait to move to our new house soon so I can set myself up in our office and get myself and the blog in order.

What are your future plans for the blogosphere?

To focus on quality posts, to be more organised, to use my camera more and to finalise a new feature for the blog. Oh, and change blog hosts asap!

Finally, tell us a random fact about you.

I am addicted to wasabi peas.
