Tips For Planning Content For Your Blog

Writing consistent, high-quality content is probably one of the most common challenges I hear from fellow bloggers.

We all have super busy lives these days so it can be difficult to find time, think up new content, or even create all these amazing blog post ideas swimming around our head.

So planning content is one of the most efficient and stress-saving techniques you can use for blogging. Every single successful blogger I know has found a process for planning their content so that they can maintain their blogs at the highest level.

But before we find that process, how do we know what to write?

I want you to think about how YOU work best and start planning the content you want to write on your blog.

Initially you need to start brainstorming as many topics or post titles as possible. It’s best to shut off all distractions (close the Facebook!), and just start writing a list with as many ideas as possible.

Try to just brain-dump to start with.

Then begin thinking about the posts/tasks/challenges/tips on this blog where we nailed our niche, found our core purpose and honed in on our blog brand.

Finally, think about the kind of content you like to read online and work out how you can rework it into your own style/niche.

Now you can start to group those post titles into categories that suit your blog. Aim for around 5 main topics at the most (you can include sub-categories within those).

By the end of this you should have a long list of titles ready for you to start writing. Now you just need to write a good spread of categories over the week/month.

Tips for Planning Content For Your Blog

1. Turn off the distractions!

2. Brainstorm topics and blog post titles.

3. Add them to a spreadsheet

4. Now, in another column, start assigning categories to each post title.

5. Finally, decide on a potential order in which to write/publish these posts.
