We need to make sure that our blog is seen across the internet in a consistent way as it reinforces our branding and helps our blogs become recognisable. A simple and effective way to do so is to add a favicon to your website. This is the small icon that displays in a user’s browser to represent your page. It’s usually just a small logo, picture or initial.
What is a FAVICON?
A favicon (short for “favourite icon”) is the small icon that displays in the web browser to signify the page that is open. For examples see below.
There are a few different ways to create your own favicon.
I recommend choosing a single letter or initial as the image size is so small. Or choose a graphic/logo that represents your blog.
Most premium themes on WordPress will have a setting for adding the Favicon easily.
Do a Google search on the theme you are using if you’re not sure how to add the favicon.
For Blogger you add the favicon in the Layout option through your Dashboard.
